Phloretin is a dihydrochalone-type flavonoid compound with four phenolic hydroxyl groups. Its unique structure determines its strong antioxidant activity. It has the ability to inhibit mitochondrial lipid peroxidation, scavenging DPPH and ABTS free radicals, and inhibiting tyrosinase activity. The inhibition rate of 0.3% phloretin on tyrosinase was as high as 98.2%, and its IC50 was 0.05%, which was better than that of commonly used whitening agents (kojic acid and arbutin). Phloretin is a new natural skin whitening agent developed recently.
Phloretin can inhibit the production of inflammatory factors, chemokines and differentiation factors, and has a certain anti-inflammatory effect. New hesperidin dihydrogen chalcone IC50 of tyrosinase is 82.02 (including m/L, respectively is about VC whitening agent with beta 2 times to about 60 times of arbutin. The new hesperidin dihydrochalcone is expected to be a new type of whitening agent. Neohesperidin dihydrochalchalone can inhibit and dilute pigmentation spots such as freckle, melasma and melanoma.
